Introduction of WP350 Doppler Wind Lidar

The WindMast WP350 is a Doppler Lidar specifically designed and manufactured for wind measurement ( speed & direction ) purposes, with figures of low power consumption, high precision figured and meeting IEC 61400-12-1:2017 standard requirements. Its characteristics and advantages give it a name “Intelligent Portable Met-mast”, which means it can achieve the applications Met-mast does, but with more flexibility, easy mobilisation and setup, less requirements on site terrain, less EHS risks during construction, less interferences with other construction works, and leads to less cost in the end. So we can be proudly saying that this is the future for the wind meausrement (speed & direction) in the wind farm.

Doppler Beam Swinging (DBS Mode)

  • Swinging between 4 fixed beams
  • Limited measurement angles with high sampling rate
  • Accuracy will be affected by complex terrain, as long as 1 of the 4 beams affected by terrain or wake then deviation will be generated during the calculation

Velocity-Azimuth Display (VAD Mode) - Complex terrain site solution

VAD Mode:

The Doppler beams of the Lidar are increase to 16, and also can be configured with continuous scanning, to achieve more accurate wind measurement (speed & direction). 

Applications:

Applied in complex terrain sites: scanning beams increased, with lower sampling rate.

Increased measurement points can reduce the influenced by complex terrain and assess the interference from uneven air flow.

Comparison between WP350 Lidar and traditional Met-mast
